Overview of Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a hard working person to strengthen our department, working within a collaborative environment where we will be able to mentor and encourage you to progress throughout the business. RLB are keen for as many employees to be chartered or members of their professional bodies, if you are not already this is something that we will certainly encourage and help towards reaching that goal.
Our award-winning Sustainability team at RLB provide a range of services to national clients. Our services include bespoke sustainability strategies, net zero carbon consultancy alongside certifications including BREEAM, SKA and WELL.
Key Responsibilities: Typical duties will include but not limited to:
Project management of entire BREEAM & SKA certification process from initiation to close out
Proactive development of opportunities for new sustainability projects, and acquiring new clients to grow service stream
Producing reports, guidance notes and general communications with the design teams to ensure quality and standards are achieved/exceeded
Delivering sustainability workshops, hosting project design meetings and client meetings
Identifying issues or risks that affect the delivery of a project, and identifying measures to address the issue/risk and agreeing with your manager how these measures will be implemented
Willing to travel to various locations and to undertake site inspections during the construction phase
Ensuring compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems and with relevant Health and Safety Legislation
Provision of guidance on Regulation and Legislation change that will impact the built environment
Assisting with bid and tender preparation and co-ordination
Essential
Experience of delivering BREEAM assessments from pre-assessment to certification
Experience of submitting high quality written reports to BRE Quality Assurance
Awareness of sustainability standards including all BREEAM schemes, WELL Building Standard (qualified preferred), SKA, LEED
Knowledge of relevant legislation impacting sustainability and construction
Knowledge of building services terms and technologies
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (not essential for London)
Desirable
Well Certified Assessor / detailed knowledge of the Well Standard
Experience of sustainability strategies, carbon consultancy including net zero carbon
Educated to degree level preferably in an architectural, sustainability, environmental or construction discipline
Willingness to undergo further training on sustainability standards, e.g. LEED/WELL as required
BREAAM AP qualified
Proficient in BREEAM Management software such as IES Tap and Tracker+

1.PERSONAL INFORMATION
When you interact with us in relation to your work with us, you may provide us with or we may obtain personal information about you, such as information regarding your:

2.SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may also collect, store and use the following “special categories” of more sensitive personal information regarding you:
information about your race or ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation and political opinions;
information about your trade union memberships;
information about your health, including any medical condition, health and sickness records, medical records and health professional information and disability information; and
biometric information about you, for example fingerprints, retina scans.

We typically collect personal information about prospective employees, workers, directors or consultants through the application and recruitment process, either directly from candidates or sometimes from an employment agency or background check provider.
We may sometimes collect additional information from third parties including former employers, credit reference agencies or other background check agencies.
If you are providing us with details of referees, next of kin, beneficiaries, family members and emergency contacts they have a right to know and to be aware of how what personal information we hold about them, how we collect it and how we use and may share that information. The Government or our regulators: where we are required to do so by law or to assist with their investigations or initiatives, for example HMRC or the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Police, law enforcement and security services: to assist with the investigation and prevention of crime and the protection of national security.
We do not disclose personal information to anyone else except as set out above unless we have your consent or we are legally obliged to do so. We do not sell your data.
6.TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION INTERNATIONALLY
Our directors and other individuals working for us may also in limited circumstances access personal information outside of the UK and European Union if they are on holiday abroad outside of the UK or European Union. If they do so they will be using our security measures and will be subject to their arrangements with us which are subject to English Law and the same legal protections that would apply to accessing personal data within the UK.
In limited circumstances the people to whom we may disclose personal information as mentioned in the section “Disclosure of your personal information” above may be located outside of the UK and European Union. In these cases, we will impose any legally required protections to the personal information as required by law before it is disclosed.

8.HOW LONG WE KEEP PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR
The duration for which we retain your personal information will differ depending on the type of information and the reason why we collected it from you. However, in some cases personal information may be retained on a long-term basis: for example, personal information that we need to retain for legal purposes will normally be retained in accordance with usual commercial practice and regulatory requirements. Generally, where there is no legal requirement, we retain all physical and electronic records for a period of 12 months if you are unsuccessful in your application to work for us.
Exceptions to this rule are:
Where you have consented to us holding your details for longer in relation to future opportunities, we may hold records for up to 5 years.
Information that may be relevant to personal injury claims, employment claims, discrimination claims may be retained until the limitation period for those types of claims has expired. For personal injury or discrimination claims this can be an extended period as the limitation period might not start to run until a long time after you have worked for us.
