Job Title: Senior M&E Decarbonisation Consultant

Location: Yorkshire, Humber and North East

We are currently seeking a talented Engineer with a strong background in MEP engineering and energy modelling to join our dynamic team.

 

Job Description:

You will be required to assist in growing the RLB Decarbonisation Delivery offering.  Having a fundamental knowledge of engineering design is imperative.  You must have background experience in delivering  decarbonisation projects in construction and have a technical knowledge of how to implement these solutions.  The role will be hybrid with an aim being to build a team to deliver decarbonisation projects but also have the technical ability to work on these projects as/when required, (report writing / MEP Design).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Being part of a decarbonisation delivery team, offering practical decarbonisation delivery solutions to our clients.

Client facing role to help with the strategic development of the decarbonisation delivery offering.

Fundamental knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on decarbonisation projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on decarbonisation
  • Collaborate with our in-house project delivery engineers, and other stakeholders to optimise building designs for energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to building physics and energy modelling.
  • Support the delivery of the wider M&E Team workload as required

 

Qualifications:

  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering.
  • Proficiency in VE modelling software (e.g., IES, EnergyPlus, TAS or similar). Or an understanding of these.
  • Strong understanding of building physics principles.
  • Experience with MEP system design and integration in building models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as LCC, LCEA, CEng, or similar.
  • Experience with other simulation tools (e.g. REVIT, BIM, AutoCAD software).
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green building certifications.
