Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate building surveying student looking for a Year Out Placement as part of their degree program. You will work alongside experienced surveyors and gain practical experience in all aspects of building surveying. You will contribute to a wide range of projects, both large and small, within sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting building condition surveys, schedules of condition, and measured surveys.
  • Support in preparing and managing design and specification documents for repair, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.
  • Work alongside senior surveyors to assess and report on building defects, advise on remedial actions, and prepare defect diagnosis reports.
  • Assist in project management activities, ensuring that project objectives are met within time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Help in preparing tender and contract documentation.
  • Support in preparing dilapidation reports and party wall notices.
  • Attend client meetings, site inspections, and progress meetings.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other consultants on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of work undertaken, including survey findings and project progress.
